Mainstreaming Voluntary Work at BA College

Towards mainstreaming voluntary work at the College of Business Administration, under the auspices of Dr. Soltan Al-Bogami, the Dean of the College, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Qurany, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs; the students and faculty members were encouraged on the voluntary work and serving society. In this framework, the College succeeded in the following:

- The students made interacting guiding tours for the pilgrims under the supervision of Dr. Sultan Al-Harby, the teacher of the subject of guiding pilgrims, in applying the service learning methodology, which is one of the active learning methodologies. 

- Launching Skills Initiative from the students club at the college, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Al-Sherief, for the students to share their skills and capabilities through a series of training courses. 

- Launching the voluntary training initiative for tourism ambassadors at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Al-Qassim. The initiative aims at spreading touristic awareness that is committed to the Saudi society’s values inside the university through a series of training courses given by the department’s female students to their colleges in the university.   

-Your Library Initiative: It was launched by Student Nawaf Al-Saiedy, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Qurany, the Vice Dean of the College. The student organized a voluntary work for the continuous promotion of the library of the college with the hands of the College’s students. 

- Develop Your Potentials Initiative: The Field Training Unit at the College held a series of workshops for the students to develop their potentials. It was presented by Dr. Yousry Nabil and followed up on by the Vice Dean for the Educational Affairs. 

Tweet a Book Initiative: To spread knowledge and the leading role of the College of Business Administration in spreading knowledge. This is the initiative which was launched by Dr. Sultan Al-Harby and witnessed a great interaction on Twitter. 

It is worth mentioning that since the establishment of the College and it contributes strongly to serving the society and voluntary work through th participations of the students in the Great Mosque pilgrims’ service activities, scouts activities in the university and the students clubs all over the university. This is in addition to the participation of the faculty members in voluntary training courses for the students and their continuous contact with the industry and local community.
