As reported by the Deanship of Student Affairs and as directed by Sheikh Dr. Hassan Bukhary, Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, the first phase of UQU Role Model Contest was held. The contest was attended by Dr. Hassan Sanky, Vice-Dean of Student Affairs. The event was started with a Qur’anic recitation by Student/ Lutfallah, followed by the speech of Sheikh Dr. Hassan Bukhary. Then, presentations were given by the following participating students: Suleiman Awlad Al-Hajj Omar, Mam Modosy, Muhammad Abo-Hanif, Yasser Abdurrahman, Morr Dhaheeruddin, Mam Nadiay, as well as Khalid Kaldoba.
Within the same framework, the above-mentioned students received awards. Moreover, Students/ Lutfallah (the Qur’an Reciter) and Isa Ra’eesy (the Event Presenter) were honored.
During the event, the attendees extended thanks to Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) for the efforts exerted for its expatriate students. This was evident as UQU paid most of its attention to students by adopting the motto, “Students First!” Such attention culminated in urging UQU students to be role models for others, by holding the UQU Role Model Contest.
