His Excellency, Dr. Osama Bin Fadl Al-Bar, Mayor of Mecca, in his office on Thursday, on 11th of Ramadan 1437 AH, corresponding to June 16, 2016, headed a meeting with the officials of College of Engineering at the Umm Al-Qura University, to discuss ways of cooperation and strategic partnership between the Secretariat and the University, and to discuss the process to take advantage of engineering studies and projects prepared by the University and the application process on the ground in the development of the Secretariat projects for community service.
His Excellency, Mayor of Mecca, explained that the Secretariat is keen on providing optimum services to the community, and achieving immediate tangible improvements by citizens and residents especially regarding the development of slums, benefiting from the experiences and studies of the University, noting that the Secretariat is looking forward to achieving many objectives, as developing projects and achieving community partnership and cooperation with various authorities, stressing the depth of the relationship and the strategic partnership between the Secretariat and the University.
A number of students showed their projects, which they executed the students, and the possibility to take advantage of them, where some students presented their projects, which they prepared for some neighborhoods of Mecca, such as the development project of Al-Salama Neighborhood, Al-Zohoor lane development project, Al-Otaibiah area development project, and the development project of the random Khalidiya neighborhood and others.
His Excellency, Mayor of Mecca highly admired these projects looking forward to taking advantage of them, especially as they are featured projects and holds numerous awards and patents, which are prepared by a group of people belong to this blessed country, stressing that the Secretariat is keen on opening cooperation horizons and activating communication with scientific institutions, and working together to create initiatives and mechanisms that serve the public interest, and contributing to achieve the national objectives.
