His Excellency Dr. Bakri bin Matouk Asas, President of the University of Umm Al-Qura, gave the go-ahead of the execution of the institutional change program for the College of Applied Medical Sciences on Monday 9th of Sha’ban 1437 AH, of which the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Ashi has announced earlier. The program basically aims at integrating the different college plans, programs and activities into the Saudi Vision 2030.
The celebration opened with a recital of Quranic verses, recited by the student Ahmed Al Umri, followed by a poem welcoming the president of the university and the dean of the college of applied medical sciences read by the student Osama Al Shahri.
Afterwards, the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Ashi delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the president of the university and thanked him for attending the celebration, and for his constant support of all initiatives taken by the college of applied medical sciences; which aim at serving Umm Al-Qura University and the city of Makkah; the holiest place upon earth. He also demonstrated the foundations and objectives of the institutional change program, and the college’s vision with regard to turning the strategic vision of the Kingdom 2030 into actual practices on the ground inside the college of Applied Medical Sciences as the first college to take the initiative.
Through the presentation delivered by the students of the Department of Health Management, the students pointed out the key pivots of the Saudi Vision 2030 with regard to the health sector, along with their personal vision of how to implement that on the ground.
In his speech, the president of the university pointed out the importance of effectuating the role of the university and its various colleges in implementing the Saudi strategic vision 2030; he also exhibited some successful global experiences; like that of Malaysia and Brazil, which proved the importance of strategic planning in establishing the modern countries and communities.
His Excellency indicated the importance of such events in familiarizing the female and male students and the university community in general with the strategic vision.
The celebration wrapped up with the inauguration of the students exhibition of the Saudi Vision 2030, in which the students of the department of health management showcased projects and modules embodying the manners of integrating the Saudi strategic plan 2030 into the curriculum of “Strategic Planning and Promotion of Health Services”, which is instructed by Dr. Ammar Ataar and prof. Mohamed Khair Addin. His Excellency praised the students’ exhibition and encouraged the students to go the extra mile for the sake of honoring our homeland.
