Research Deanship Participates in Int'l Conference on Arab Impact Factor

Umm Al Qura University (UQU), represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, took part in the 2nd International Conference on the Arab Impact Factor which was held on 10-12/8/1438 in Zewail City of Science and Technology, Egypt. 

The conference was sponsored by Association of Arab Universities (AARU) and attended by a large number of researchers from Arab countries who are interested in Arab journal classifications. The deanship participated with two papers: the first was made by Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Abdurrahman Al Ahdal, Vice-Dean for Research Chairs Dr. Abdel Wahhab Al Ressini and Advisor to the Vice-deanship for Research Chairs Dr. Mohamed F. Ramadan under the theme "Institutional Impact Factor (IIF) as a tool for research quality measurement at Arab universities and scientific institutions."

The second paper was presented by Vice-Dean of Scientific Research for Quality and Academic Accreditation under the title "Quality of Arabic research publishing as per the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) - Real life study."

The conference's agenda focused on the scientific activities evaluation and an attempt to find Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for all scientific phases according to the international standards via partnerships with scientific, research and information agencies.

The IIF was launched to provide a quantitative and qualitative evaluation for th Arabic scientific journals to be used for the academic evaluation and quality measurement of Arabic journals.
