The College of Dentistry has received the second class of trainees for the Dental Assistant Program, which is held in partnership with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
In addition, the College of Dentistry at Umm Al-Qura University held the introductory day for the students of the fourth class of the Dental Assistant Program, a total of 14 students, on Tuesday, 30 Muharram 1443 A.H. This activity was held in the presence of Her Excellency the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Mash`il bint Sa`id Al-Qahtani, His Excellency the Supervisor of the Health Academic Programs at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Zamzami, and the Director of the Program, Dr. Shahinaz bint Nabil Simbawah.
Her Excellency the Dean of the College gave a speech in which she welcomed the students of the program and congratulated them on being accepted by the College of Dentistry at Umm Al-Qura University: this great academic edifice in which students receive their training at the hands of the academic staff members of the college who are graduates of the most honorable universities in the world. Moreover, she praised the role of the dental assistant in the medical team and highlighted the urgent need for national cadres to cover the demand for qualified dental assistants in the dental workforce in the Saudi Kingdom.
His Excellency the Supervisor of the Academy Programs delivered a speech in which he welcomed the students. He also praised the efforts of the College of Dentistry and its successful experience in training the previous class in the program, which consisted of 23 students who are about to successfully complete their training. His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Zamzami urged the students to persevere, excel and take advantage of the available potentials to achieve the desired benefit from their training.
This was followed by a presentation made by the Director of the Program in which she shed light on the regulations and laws of the program, including the program's time plan, evaluation system, grades, attendance, and common questions. The students were also given a chance to pose their questions, which were answered by the director.
