Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Ashie, Dean of College of Applied Medical Sciences, and Dr. Haifaa Hejazi Head of Department of Clinical Nutrition, an event was held — Thanks to Allah — for the two courses of "Food and Medicine Interaction" and "Nutritional Education" for the fourth year female students of Department of Clinical Nutrition at female student residential complex in Al Nuzha. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Mona Hamadi, Dr. Do'aa Najm and Dr. Nehal al-Fiqi. The event was also held under the patronage of Dr. Lo'lo'a bint Saleh al-Harithi, Vice-Dean of Student Affairs for Student Services.

The event shed light on a number of topics including the importance of the folic acid during the reproductive stage and types of foods that strengthen the immune system. Female students raised the targeted audience's awareness by distributing brochures and posters and by sharing videos. Through these tools, they shed light on the sources of folic acid, the suitable dose of it, its role in protecting embryos from congenital malformations and defects, and the medicines that interferes with its absorption by human body. The event also enumerated types of foods that strengthen the immune system and how medicines may interfere with them.

This event was attended by the Ms. Hayat al-Bishi, the Residential Complex's Personnel Officer, the educational supervisors Ms. Abeer al-Qathami and Ms. Tourkiya al-Thaqafi and the academic supervisor Ms. Riham Badriq. All of the attendees praised the event which won great admiration from the residential complex's female students, who expressed their wish for more educational activities and events.
