The Department of Biochemistry at the UQU College of Medicine offered a first aid course for the blind in the 50th high school and Al-Nour [Light] classes on Monday, as part of Prince Naif First Aid Program under the theme of "Your Safety First". The program was held under the supervision and coordination of Dr. Ebtisam Al-Mani`i, Head of the Female Section at the Saudi Red Crescent. It was presented by Dr. Hala Fawzi Muhammad Kamil, an academic staff member at UQU College of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry.
The course also focused on the awareness and training aspects of blind students and teachers. The focus was on the use of other senses, and the tremendous abilities that Allah, Exalted and Glorified be He, gave to the blind, such as the sense of touch. The course also gave training in audio and motor simulation for the students to give first aid in a practical way, step by step. The students performed the exercises in a wonderful and dazzling manner.
