برنامج الزمالة الطبية في تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين بقسم وقاية الأسنان

هو برنامج تدريب إكلينيكي في تخصص تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين، يمتد لمدة ٣ سنوات دراسية، يهدف لتخريج أطباء متخصصين قادرين على تقديم الرعاية الطبية المناسبة لمختلف أنواع سوء الإطباق.

أهداف البرنامج:

-تزويد المتدربين بالمهارات الأساسية المرتبطة بالممارسة الإكلينيكية، العمل الاحترافي بالعيادات، القيادة والتواصل الفعال.

-تدريبهم على تشخيص وعلاج أنواع مختلفة من مشاكل سوء الإطباق باستخدام طرق مختلفة وحديثة مبنية على البراهين.

-تخريج أطباء مدربين لديهم القدرة على تقديم علاج تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين بخلفية علمية قوية ومهارات إكلينيكية متقدمة ومتكاملة مع التخصصات الأخرى.

الخطة الدراسية لبرنامج زمالة تقويم الأسنان و الوجه و الفكين:

السنة الأولى:

-علوم الفم.

-طرق البحث العلمي بطب الأسنان.

-تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين ١I

-عيادات تقويم الأسنان المتقدمة ١

السنة الثانية:

-تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين ٢

-عيادات تقويم الأسنان المتقدمة ٢

السنة الثالثة:

-تقويم الأسنان والوجه والفكين ٣

-عيادات تقويم الأسنان المتقدمة ٣

-المشروع البحثي.

Fellowship Program in Orthodontics

Program Mission

To graduate a professional orthodontist capable of contributing to the healthcare workforce in both governmental and private sectors.

Program Goals:

1. Providing thetraineeswith the essential skills relevant to practice management, decision making, leadership and effective communication.

2. Training them to diagnose and treat a wide range of malocclusions using different orthodontic techniques and appliances.

3. Graduating well-trained clinicians capable of providing Orthodontic care with a comprehensive background of contemporary clinical experience and basic scientific knowledge relevant to Orthodontics.

Study Plan of the Fellowship Program in Orthodontics:

First year:

Oral Sciences course:

This course is designed to provide the trainee with the basic principles of knowledge and skills related to Oral Sciences. The course is a yearly based course covering essential topics in oral sciences including (Head and Neck anatomy, Immunology & Oral Microbiology, Oral Biology & Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, Pharmacology, Oral Medicine, Special care & medically compromised patients as well as Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders).

Research Methods in Dentistry:

This course delivers an advanced material to dental research for the trainee to be able to read, perform, write research proposal and article manuscript.

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics I

This is an extended course along the 1st year where the trainee will learn the foundation knowledge regarding the essential topics of Orthodontics.

Advanced Orthodontic Clinic I

This is an extended 1-year course which covers the clinical parts of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

The trainees will be introduced to the basic clinical skills to deliver a comprehensive orthodontic treatment.

Second year:

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics II

This 1-year course will address the advanced topics of orthodontic treatment and biomechanical principles and options in wide range of orthodontic patients.

Advanced Orthodontic Clinic II

The trainees are expected to continue the treatment of the cases they started in the 1st year and starting new cases.

They should practice more advanced biomechanics in different types of malocclusions.

Third year:

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics III

The trainees will be able to finish the cases they started in the previous two years. They will be trained to evaluate the treatment outcomes and prescribe the proper retention appliances.

Advanced Orthodontic Clinic III

The trainee will be interduced to more advanced orthodontic topics related to: management of interdisciplinary cases, managing patients with cleft lip and palate, digital orthodontics and clear aligners.

The trainee is expected to appreciate the importance of effective communication and leadership during his orthodontic practice.

Research Project in Orthodontics

This course is based on conducting a publishable research project fundamentally related to the core science of the specialty. Each trainee will conduct their own project.
