برنامج الزمالة في طب الفم
مقدمة:
طب الفم هوأحد تخصصات طب الأسنان التيتهدف إلى علاج أمراض واضطرابات الفم والوجه، بالإضافة إلى اضطرابات الفك الصدغي. يقدم قسم علوم الفم الأساسية والسريرية بكلية طب الأسنان بجامعة أم القرى للمتدربين تدريبًا شاملاً في طب الفم السريري، لضمان الامتياز الإكلينيكي.
من المتوقع أن يحقق جميع المتدربين بالبرنامج المعايير الأكاديمية الفعّالة في طب الفم، من خلال تطوير مهاراتهم النقدية والبحثية القائمة على الأدلة والبراهين الإكلينيكية والعلمية.
يتميز البرنامج بدمج كل من البحث العلمي والتدريب السريري، وتشمل موضوعات البحث العلمي العديد من جوانب التخصص مثيلات: الحزاز المسطح الفموي، الفقاع الفموي الاعتيادي، وغيرها من أمراض الفم الدارجة.
رسالة البرنامج:
يهدف البرنامج إلى تمكين أخصائيين طب الفم في المستقبل من تقديم خدمات رعاية صحية متميزة في طب الفم والتميز في مجال البحث والابتكار العلمي فيما يتعلق بالتخصص.
أهداف البرنامج:
·إنشاء برنامج تدريبي فريد وديناميكي يوفر معايير عالية في رعاية مرضى الفم.
·اكتساب المتدربين التميّز في المعرفة والتدريب والتطبيق بمهنية واحترافية عالية.
·تأهيل المتدربين مع التركيز على أبحاث طب الفم.
·المساهمة في مجال طب الفم في المملكة العربية السعودية من حيث الخدمات السريرية والبحثية للمجتمع السعودي.
مخرجات التعلم:
سيقوم المتدربون بما يلي:
·فهم العلوم الطبية الأساسية المتعلقة بطب الفم بما في ذلك توضيح السمات الهيكلية والوظائفية الطبيعية لتجويف الفم والأغشية المحيطة.
·وصف المسببات والتغيرات المرضية لأمراض أنسجة الفم وما حولها، وتوضيح تأثير الأمراض الجهازية على أنسجة الفم
·بناء ومناقشة المعرفة الموثوقة حول تشخيص طب الفم ومهارات التخطيط للعلاج لصياغة طرق التشخيص والعلاج المختلفة المبنية على الأساليب العلمية الحديثة بحسب كل مرض واحتياجاته.
·اكتساب فهم شامل لقراءة وتحليل الأدبيات العلمية والخطوات اللازمة لإجراء أبحاث علمية صحيحة ورائدة في مجال طب الفم.
المنهج
·المقررات الأساسية المشتركة (تدرس في السنة الأولى):
oعلوم الفم:تم تصميم هذا المقرر لتزويد المتدربين بالمبادئ المعرفية والمهارة الأساسية المتعلقة بعلوم الفم، وهو مقرر متطلب خلال السنة الأولى لجميع برامج الزمالة في كلية طب الأسنان.
ويتضمن تشريح الرأس والرقبة، وعلم المناعة وعلم الأحياء الدقيقة للفم، وبيولوجيا الفم وأمراض الفم، وأشعة الفم، وعلم الأدوية، وطب الفم، والرعاية الخاصة والمرضى المعرضين للخطر طبيا بالإضافة إلى آلام الفم والوجه والاضطرابات الصدغية الفكية.
من خلال هذا المقرر، سيقوم المتدرب بدراسة البنية الطبيعية وغير الطبيعية وتطور ووظيفة أنسجة الفم وعلاقاتها المتبادلة، مع فهم أهمية تطبيقها في رعاية المرضى أثناء ممارسة فروع طب الأسنان المختلفة
oطرق البحث في طب الأسنان:يقدم هذا المقرر السبل لأبحاث طب الأسنان للمتدرب ليكون قادرا على قراءة وأداء وكتابة مقترح بحثي ومخطوطة مقالة، مع الحفاظ على الاعتبارات الأخلاقية، وتقديم تقييم نقدي للمعلومات العلمية.

§السنة الأولى:
مقررطب الفم 1هو مقرر سنوي يتعرف المتدربين فيه على المبادئ الأساسية لإدارة المرضى من خلال التعرض للمبادئ الرئيسية للتشخيص الفموي، مع التركيز على الأساليب والتقنيات الطبية الصحيحة، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة المشاكل والحالات الدارجة والأكثر رواجاً في طب الفم.
§السنة الثانية:
مقررطب الفم 2هو مقرر سنوي سيقدم للمتدربين التدريب في الأمراض الجهازية ذات الأعراض الفموية، ويغطي تأثير الأمراض الجهازية والمصاحبة وأهميتها في صحة الفم. أيضا، سيتم تدريب الملتحقين بالبرنامج سريرياً على الاضطرابات الصدغية الفكية وآلام الفك الصدغي جنبا إلى جنب مع أمراض الأنسجة الصلبة الفموية.
§السنة الثالثة:
مقررطب الفم 3هو مقرر سنوي يشارك فيه المتدربين بالمبادئ المتقدمة لإدارة المرضى في طب الفم من خلال التركيز على المشكلات المتقدمة. يميل هذا المقرر أكثر نحو التعلم الذاتي للمتدربين، مع مناقشات بقيادة الندوات والتعلم التعاوني فيما يتعلق بالجوانب الأكثر ندرة وتعقيدا لأمراض الفم والحالات متعددة الأجهزة في منطقة الرأس والرقبة، مما يمنح المتدربين الفرصة لتطوير المعرفة لتحديد وتشخيص وعلاج هذه الحالات الفموية.
مشروع بحثي في طب الفم: يوضح هذا المقرر فهم المتدرب لتخطيط المعرفة والمهارات المهنية والأخلاق ومهارات التفكير النقدي والتواصل الفعال والاحتراف وطرق البحث لإعداد مشروع بحثي جيد التصميم يتعلق بمجال طب الفم.
في هذا المقرر يبدأ كل متدرب العمل وفقا لبروتوكول البحث المعتمد من المشرف ولجنة البحث.
من خلال تنفيذ مثل هذا المشروع العلمي، يكتسب المتدربون التفكير النقدي ومهارات التنظيم والمعرفة الواسعة في أبحاث طب الفم.
oالمقررات الإكلينيكية
·السنة الأولى:طب الفم السريري 1هو مقرر سنوي يعرّف المتدربين بالمهارات الأساسية لإدارة المرضى من خلال المراقبة السريرية وتعلم المبادئ الرئيسية للتشخيص الفموي، مع التركيز على الأساليب والتقنيات الطبية الصحية، بالإضافة إلى حل التحديات والحالات الدارجة والأكثر شيوعاً في تخصص طب الفم بهدف ممارسة الفحص السريري واستخدام الفحوصات الخاصة والتشخيص ومختلف الإدارات والعلاجات الممكنة لأمراض حالات الفم الأكثر شيوعا في منطقة الرأس والرقبة.
·السنة الثانية:طب الفم السريري 2هي مقرر سنوي يغطي تأثير الأمراض الجهازية والمصاحبة للأعراض الفموية.
كما يقوم هذا المقرر بتوفير التدريب على الاضطرابات الصدغية الفكية وآلام الفك الصدغي، جنبا إلى جنب مع أمراض الأنسجة الصلبة الفموية.
·السنة الثالثة: يشرك مقررطب الفم السريري 3المتدربين بالممارسات المتقدمة لإدارة المرضى في طب الفم من خلال التركيز على المضاعفات والأمراض والحالات المتقدمة في طب الفم.
يقوم فيه المتدرب بالتعلم الذاتي، مع مناقشات بقيادة الندوات والتعلم التعاوني فيما يتعلق بالجوانب الأكثر ندرة وتعقيدا لأمراض الفم والحالات متعددة الأنظمة في منطقة الرأس والرقبة، مما يمنح المتدربين الفرصة لتطوير المهارات اللازمة لتحديد وتشخيص وعلاج هذه الحالات الفموية.

Fellowship Program inOral Medicine
Oral Medicine is a specialty aimed at treating orofacial diseases and disorders, temporomandibular disorders and special care medicine. The Department of Basic and Clinical Oral Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University's College of Dental Medicine offers trainees comprehensive training in clinical Oral Medicine, guaranteeing clinical excellence.
All trainees are expected to attain proficient academic standards in Oral Medicine, through evidence-based critical and thoughtful skills.
The program prides itself on incorporating both research and clinical training. Research themes include many aspects of the specialty, such as: Oral Lichen Planus, Oral Pemphigus Valgaris, Oral Ulcers and others.
Program Mission:
This program aims to enable future Oral Medicine specialists to provide excellent healthcare services in oral medicine and excel in the field of research and innovation regarding the specialty.
Program Goals:
Establishing a unique and dynamic training program providing high standards in oral health care.
Acquiring a trainee with excellence in knowledge, training and application with a high professional attitude and work ethics.
Qualifying trainees with a focus on oral medicine research and innovation.

Learning Outcomes
Trainees will:
·Understand basic medical science concerning oral medicine including clarifying the normal structural, functional, and developmental features of oral cavity and mucosa.
·Describe the etiology, pathological changes, and clinical presentations of diseases of oral and perioral tissues and illustrate the impact of systemic diseases on oral tissues
·Discuss authoritative knowledge about Oral Medicine diagnosis and treatment planning to formulate the different diagnostic and treatment modalities.
·Acquire a comprehensive understanding of reading and analyzing scientific literature and the steps necessary to conduct scientifically valid research in the field of oral medicine.
Curriculum:
A-Common core courses (Taught in Year 1):
·Oral Sciences:
This course is designed to provide the trainees with the basic principles of knowledge and skills related to Oral Sciences. It is a required course within the first year of all postgraduate fellowship programs in college of Dentistry. The course is a yearly based course covering essential topics in oral sciences including (Head and Neck anatomy, Immunology & Oral Microbiology, Oral Biology & Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, Pharmacology, Oral Medicine, Special care & medically compromised patients as well as Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders). Through this course the trainee will study the normal and abnormal structure, development and function of oral tissues and their interrelationships, with understanding the importance of their application in patient care during the practice of various branches of dentistry.
·Research Methods in Dentistry:
This course delivers advance material to dental research for the trainee to be able to read, perform, write research proposal and article manuscript, while maintaining the ethical considerations, and providing critical appraisal to scientific information.

·Year One:
The course ofOral Medicine 1is a yearly course, consisting of three modules, representing the first of three years of the fellowship program in Oral Medicine. It introduces trainees to the basic principles of patient management through exposure to the main principles of oral diagnosis, focusing on wholesome medical approaches/techniques, as well as discussing the main problems and conditions in the Oral Medicine Specialty. This course aims at understanding/practicing proper history taking, clinical examination, use of special investigations, diagnosis, and different possible managements and treatments of the most common oral disease/conditions in the head and neck area, granting trainees the opportunity to develop the skills to identify, diagnose and manage common oral conditions.
·Year Two:
The course ofOral Medicine 2is a yearly course, consisting of three modules, representing the second of the three years of the fellowship program in oral medicine. it will introduce trainees to the medically compromised medicine, covering systemic and co-morbidities’ impact and relevancy in oral health. Also, Temporomandibular disorders and temporomandibular pain will be taught along with oral hard tissue pathology.
·Year Three:
The course ofOral Medicine 3is a yearly course, consisting of three modules, representing the final of the three years of the fellowship program in oral medicine. It engages trainees with advanced principles of patient management in Oral Medicine by focusing on advanced problems. This course leans more towards trainee self-learning, with seminar-led and group discussions regarding the more rare and complex aspects of oral diseases/multi-systemic conditions in the head and neck area, granting trainees the opportunity to develop the knowledge to identify, diagnose and treat these oral conditions.
·Research Project in Oral Medicine:
This course demonstrates the trainee understanding of planning knowledge, professional skills, ethics, critical thinking skills effective communication and professionalism, and research methods for preparation of a well-designed research project related to an area of oral medicine interest. In this course each trainee starts working according to the approved research protocol from supervisor and the research committee. By carrying out such a scientific project, the trainees acquire critical thinking, organization skills and extensive knowledge in oral medicine research.

Clinical Oral Medicine 1is a yearly course, representing the first of three years of clinical training in oral medicine. It introduces trainees to the basic skills of patient management through clinical exposure to the main principles of oral diagnosis, focusing on wholesome medical approaches/techniques, as well as practicing solving the main challenges and conditions in the Oral Medicine Specialty, aiming at practicing proper history taking, clinical examination, use of special investigations, diagnosis, and different possible managements and treatments of the most common oral disease/conditions in the head and neck area, granting trainees the opportunity to gain the skills to identify, diagnose and manage common oral conditions.
·Year Two:
The course ofClinical Oral Medicine 2is a yearly course, providing training in medically compromised medicine, covering systemic and co-morbidities’ impact and relevancy in oral health. Also, providing training in Temporomandibular disorders and temporomandibular pain, along with oral hard tissue pathology.
