King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Chair for Makkah Historical Studies was established in accordance with Article (18/20) of the Higher Education and Universities Council Act, and by virtue of the approval of Umm Al-Qura University Council in its fifth session held on 26/6/1431H on the research chairs program and its proposed rules.
Noteworthy, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, signed the agreement concerning the establishment of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Chair for Makkah Historical Studies with Umm Al-Qura University, represented by President of the University Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas and King Abdulaziz Foundation represented by Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Samari on Sunday 24.03.1432 H, and work in this chair has started ever since.
