Doctor of Pharmacy Program: Pharmacy is one of the fastest growing health fields, especially in light of scientific and technological progress. The concept of "doctor pharmacist" emerged in the early sixties of the last century in the United States. Before that, pharmaceutical concepts taught at all U.S. universities, yet pharmacists not seen as a key component of patient care. The role of the pharmacist is no longer limited to dispensing and preparing the medicine, and ensuring the validity of the medicine for the patient's condition. The Pharmacist Doctor has gone beyond this role to actively participate in the development of health services themselves, as his daily work includes following up on the drug therapy file for each patient, and contributes effectively to reducing medication errors and reducing the medicines that the patient takes unnecessarily. It also helps to reduce the side effects of taking certain medications, through his experience in how to take the medication properly. Upon graduation, the pharmacist will have several options, including completing postgraduate studies by enrolling in master's and doctoral programs. A pharmacist may choose to enroll in a residency or fellowship program, both of which require a hospital stay, and both involve a two- to three-year multidisciplinary clinical and practical study, after which he or she becomes a Consultant Pharmacist in the following areas: Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and others., such as parenteral nutrition, nuclear pharmacy, psychiatric pharmacy, and others.
