Introduction

The College's Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs is one of the important cornerstones that help the college succeed in achieving its goals and fulfilling its main function, which is education. The vice deanship is keen to promote the culture of work with a team spirit, and strives for creativity and development and spreading the spirit of innovation and initiative among the students of the college.

The vice deanship focuses on achieving the requirements and standards of academic accreditation with regard to learning and education. It uses this as the main guide for all the activities of the vice deanship, and as a criterion for the rules and foundations it follows in its dealings with all the permanent committees.

The development of curricula and study plans is one of the vice deanship's most important priorities in the current and future period. This is in addition to achieving excellence in learning and teaching, developing the academic advising mechanisms to give students the opportunity to pursue scientific study according to international scientific foundations, and enhancing the student’s leadership personality within a framework of disciplined academic freedom.

In general, the College's Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs focuses its efforts on achieving the higher goals of the university. Those goals aim at achieving the requirements of the knowledge society, under the unparalleled support of the University President, in order to fulfill the directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may Allah protect him - in developing higher education and achieving the Saudi Vision 2030, Allah willing.

Duties

  • Formulating the vice deanship's strategic plan in line with the university’s strategic plan and the nature of the stage.
  • Following up the annual executive plans of the college and the units associated with the vice deanship.
  • Defining the rules governing the relationship between the students and the academic staff members, and the college and the university.
  • Measuring the educational performance of the college using clear and effective performance indicators.
  • Improving the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Examining the study plans and evaluating them in accordance with standards, controls and mechanisms, and recommending their approval.
  • Developing the study plans and programs, and supporting the academic departments to formulate study plans of a high quality.
  • Raising the efficiency of the academic staff members in the field of study plans and programs.
  • Developing the students' skills and taking care of their professional and educational needs.
  • Foreseeing the future needs of the students in light of the university’s vision and future aspirations.
  • Implementing the procedures, rules, and regulations of the study pertaining to the undergraduate level, and ensuring they are fully carried through.
  • Following up the addition and deletion process of students.
  • Supervising the progress of the educational process, and following up the performance of the educational departments in the college.
  • Supervising the preparation of study schedules in the educational departments and coordinating with other colleges, in cooperation with the Deanship of Admission and Registration and the Study Schedules Unit, as well as following up their implementation by the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
  • Supervising the process of course equivalency.
  • Determining the needs of the college’s educational departments to cover courses in coordination with other colleges and the University’s Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs.
  • Organizing and activating the academic advising program in the college.
  • Following up the application of admission and transfer controls to and from the college.
  • Organizing, activating, and supervising the informative week via the induction program.
  • Following up on the preparation and equipping of classrooms and laboratories, and notifying the Dean of the College about their state of readiness.
  • Presiding over the committees and units of the vice deanship, and submitting their reports to the relevant bodies.
  • Supervising requests for postponement and apologies for studying.
  • Supervising the preparation of lists of students banned from the exams and lists of graduates.
  • Supervising the committees of students' extracurricular activities.
  • Preparing the final examination schedules and supervising their implementation.
  • Following up the cases of students expected to graduate, and submitting clearance forms to graduates.
  • Following up on updating the college’s website with regard to the Deanship for Educational Affairs and its administrative units.
  • Presenting periodic reports to the Dean of the College on the progress of work in its subordinate units, the difficulties they face, and the suggestions to overcome them.
  • Supporting the Dean of the College in planning and implementing everything related to the educational process in the college.
