  • When is a 'Denial' course grade recorded for the student?
    A denial to study is issued to students whose absence exceeds 30% of the total lectures for the entire semester.
  • Are the equivalency courses calculated in the GPA?
    All courses to which internal equivalence is made will be calculated in the GPA.
  • How is the GPA calculated?
    A- Calculating the points of each course: points of each course * the course credit hours. B- Calculating the Semester Rating: the total of the semester course points ÷ the total of the credit hours of the semester courses. C- Calculating the Cumulative Rating: the total of all the course points ÷ the total of the course credit hours.
  • What are the conditions for transfer from one department to another?
    Students should have spent at least one semester at their college, excluding the semesters in which the students have postponed or have excused themselves from their study. Students should submit a request to change their major automatically during the regular period, according to the UQU calendar. - The student’s remaining regular period of study should be sufficient to fulfill the graduation prerequisites. - Students who have dropped out, withdrawn, or have been dismissed during this semester are not entitled to transfer from one major to another. - Students are not entitled to transfer from one major to another unless they have passed more than half the number of hours of the study plan.
  • How many units can I register in a semester?
    The least number of study units which the student should register is 12 hours per semester, and the maximum limit for academic load is 24 hours, taking into account that the student’s GPA should suit the academic load.
  • When can I register courses for the coming semester?
    Courses are registered automatically through the Deanship of Admission and Registration before the start of the semester.
  • I missed the final exam without an excuse. What should I do?
    A student who misses the final exam without an excuse shall receive a zero grade in that exam. His grade in that course is calculated on the basis of the semester classwork grades obtained.
  • Is it permissible to withdraw from an entire semester? If so, how do I do it?
    2238: In 1403 A.H., corresponding to 1983 A.C., the Saudi Supreme Council of Universities approved the establishment of the Department of Medical Sciences, in its first session held on 20 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1403 A.H., to become one of the scientific departments of the College of Applied Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
  • How many times can a student withdraw from a semester?
    Withdrawal from a semester must not exceed two consecutive semesters or three non-consecutive semesters.
  • When is a student considered a graduate of the university?
    A student graduates after having successfully completed all the graduation requirements according to the study plan.
  • What documents will I get upon my graduation from university?
    Each graduate shall be granted a graduation document, in both Arabic and English, containing the following information: 1 - Date of graduation in Hijri and Gregorian calendars. 2 - Quadruple name of the student. 3 - Nationality. 4 - Civil registration number. 5 - College. 6 - Specialization. 7 - Stream. 8 - Academic degree. 9 - Grade. 10 - Honors degree (if there is any). The document must carry the signature and stamp of the Dean of Admission and Registration.
