The main tasks of the department
|
The department applies a comprehensive indexer system and performs the following tasks:
- Cataloging all forms of information resources.
- Cataloging resources on all systems used in the library.
- Training technical personnel on the systems used: barcode, labeling, tag-based programming.
- Helping with indexing lists.
- Distributing books to branch libraries in the automated system.
- Correcting and modifying electronic information resources and bibliographic records in the system.
- Preparing and implementing exclusion lists, weeding lists, and inventory lists, and issuing the necessary reports and lists for cataloging.
- Building a "newly arrived" list of all cataloged information sources.
- Issuing, withdrawing and receiving confidential book reports and sending letters to colleges.
