The beneficiary may request a statement from King Faisal Center for Research and Studies.
How many books can be borrowed on the borrowing system?
The academic staff are allowed to borrow 20 books for one semester, postgraduate students are allowed to borrow 15 books for two months, undergraduate students are allowed to borrow 6 books for 20 days, and the university employees are allowed to borrow 8 books for a month.
What are the procedures for obtaining a scientific thesis from outside Umm Al-Qura University?
1- Please fill in the form (Form for Obtaining a Copy of a Scientific Thesis). 2- Provide a copy of the whole thesis in PDF form. 3- Provide a hardcopy of the thesis.
How can I make use of the automated index when searching for a book or a scientific thesis?
The beneficiary can use the automated index without signing into the system, either from inside or outside the university, via the library’s web page. When searching by title, topic, or author, the bibliographic data of the book shall be displayed. Please check whether the book is available or not, write the category number, and then go to the intended shelf, according to the classification method adopted by the library. The whole text of any scientific thesis is available on the website of the library. To review any text, please select: ‘Display the Whole Text’. Please note that scientific theses cannot be borrowed; it is possible to only review them inside the library or via its web page.
How can I access the databases?
1- Log into your university account. 2- Visit the web page of King Abdullah University Library. 3- Access the databases by clicking the library service. 4- Browse the individual databases or access the Saudi Digital Library to review all the databases.
