King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Library at Umm Al-Qura University is a scientific, cultural, educational and social institution aiming at collecting information sources, developing them in various ways (purchasing, dedications, exchange, depositing), as well as organizing and restoring them in the shortest possible time. The library also aims at presenting these sources to the community of beneficiaries through a group of traditional services, such as borrowing, references, periodicals, photocopying, and also modern services, such as ongoing briefing, selective broadcasting of information, and other specialized services. All this is provided by efficient persons who are qualified scientifically and technically in the field of library and information science.

The Saudi Digital Library (SDL) was established with the aim of providing advanced information services and all types of digital information resources, and making them accessible to faculty members, researchers, and students in postgraduate and bachelor’s levels in Saudi universities and higher education institutions, scholarship students, and the employees of the Ministry of Education, including male and female teachers.
The Saudi Digital Library represents the largest collection of digital information sources in the Arab world. It currently contains more than 446,000 digital books (the full text), and 169 Arabic and international databases containing the full texts of millions of academic articles. The library also holds more than (5,200,000) dissertations and (461) thousand multimedia applications, including international photos and videos in all scientific specialties. This is in the interest of educational institutions, and has been acquired from over 300 global publishers.
