Abstract
The main objective of the study is to identify the positive and negative effects of applying the distance learning system in light of the Corona pandemic, the main obstacles faced with the application of this system, and the methods of addressing these obstacles from the point of view of the Bahraini family, To achieve this goal, the researcher relied on specific methodological procedures represented by: choosing the descriptive analytical method as an appropriate approach to the study, selecting a sample of (140) families in the Bahraini society that were chosen by a deliberate non-random method, and collecting field data from heads of families as the study unit through an electronic questionnaire that included all themes that reflect the objectives of the study and answer its questions, Two methods were used to analyze field data, one quantitative and the other qualitative, where the study tables and statistical analysis were extracted through the (SPSS) program, The study concluded a set of results, which includes:
- There are positive aspects that have been achieved for children through the application of the distance learning system, which have not been achieved through the traditional education system that prevailed before the outbreak of the pandemic, especially those related to developing the skills and abilities of children to use and benefit from the Internet as well as committing to regularly attending classes on time, increasing children’s self-reliance and self-confidence, and their ability to use modern technologies in the teaching and learning process.
- Statistical analysis revealed statistically significant differences in favor of the higher class and those residing in private villas, compared to the percentages obtained by individuals of equal status who reside in other living conditions.
