OSH Practitioner Training Program

Objective:

The training program for this level is designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) practitioners to be able to perform their duties effectively and achieve the standard in competency, in the manner desired by the Ministry of Human Resources according to the requirements of the National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS) in the OSH field.

General outputs:

  • The OSH practitioner operates under supervision, with limited independence.
  • On completion of this program, the trainee will be able to do the following:

1. Monitor the OSH system and operations.

2. Implement and employ OSH tools.

3. Lead and monitor compliance at the level of the workplace.

4. Carry out some simple risk management activities.

5. Contribute to the proactive improvement of occupational safety and health.

6. Provide advice and guidance in relation to occupational safety and health.

7. Disseminate and foster a positive occupational safety and health culture.

8. Facilitate communication in response to any accidents.

The Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah.

The program targets those wishing to obtain a job opportunity in the OSH field (men and women).

Requirements:

  • The trainee should not be an employee or an employer.
  • Prior knowledge of occupational safety and health is not required.
  • A general education certificate or a diploma equivalent to a high school diploma is required.

Certificates:

  • An accredited training certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development
  • An accredited certificate from Umm Al-Qura University
