The Administration of Voluntary Work is one of the newly established administrations in a time-honored university. The university’s interest in volunteer work goes back to the year 1418 A.H., when the first scientific conference for volunteer services was held. A symposium on volunteer work and future prospects was held in 1433 A.H. Since then, the university's interest in this field has never faded. After that, the Voluntary Work Unit was established at the College of Community Service and Continuing Education, which was later accredited as a vice deanship in the College of Community Service and Continuing Education. Finally, the UQU President issued a decision to establish the Department of Volunteer Work on 22 Dhul-Qi`dah 1441 A.H. as an independent department affiliated to His Excellency the Vice President for Development and Community Service.
