Therapeutic Nutrition is the science concerned with the treatment of various diseases and their related symptoms through following a specific diet, which is developed and monitored by a registered therapeutic nutritionist. This diet is based on the patient's medical and psychosocial history, the results of the medical examinations, and the patient's nutritional history.
The field training in hospitals begins during the first semester for the third-year students, during the practical parts of the Food Health and Safety Course, and the Nutrition Quality and Services in Hospitals Course. However, field training in hospitals start during the second semester for the fourth-year students, during the practical parts of Therapeutic Nutrition in Hospitals Course.
There are no separate attendance scores for both theoretical and practical parts of a course. However, the percentage of absence should not exceed 25% in each of theoretical and practical parts.
