This Department was established with the establishment of the College in 1407 Hijri, and aspires to be one of the leading departments in teaching the Arabic language and its literature, prepare distinguished graduates in the Arabic Language and its literature, take part in developing the society in all literary and humanitarian fields, and to expand the horizons of the labor market available for its graduates to beyond the traditional sectors to new scopes of media and communications, civil society organizations and different research centers.

The Department seeks to provide high quality education to its students, supported by scientific research that is directed to serving the society needs, taking part in its progress and providing it with qualified graduates with high scientific and critical thinking skills and professionals in different social, economic and intellectual fields. It also aims at deepening the concept of Arabic identity and enforcing the sense of national allegiance and the pride of the Arabic language.

The objectives of the Department of Arabic Language in Al-Qunfudhah University College are:

2. Enhancing effective language communication and critical thinking skills, and other skills that help graduates in their practical life and effectively contribute to enriching and reviving the national linguistic heritage.
