Umm Al-Qura University Vice-President for Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamer bin Hamdan bin Gaber Al-Harby, paid a visit to the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage early on Monday, 14th Jumada al-Thani 1438H.
Al-Harby was received by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Adnan bin Muhammad Fayez al-Harthi, the Vice-Dean of the Institute, Dr. Abdurrahman bin Hussein Abo Al-Kheour and Director of the Islamic Heritage Revival Center, Dr. Ahmed bin Hussein Al-Mubarky.
The UQU Vice-President for Post Graduate Studies was escorted by the institute’s dean on a tour in the institute where they began with the library that has books on genuine Islamic heritage, then, they had a look at the training hall which is fitted with the state of the art technology where specialized courses in manuscripts critical editing will be held. After that, he visited the institute’s permanent exhibition which shows history of UQU interest in Islamic heritage.
Following that tour, Al-Harby visited the manuscripts department where he met the department supervisor, Dr. Adnan bin Mohamed Al-Qaissi, that showed indexes, microfilms and other contents of the department.
At the end of his visit, his Excellency appraised the support and interest of His Highness Dr. Bakry bin Matuq Assass, Umm Al-Qura University President to the institute’s programs and activities, hoping the institute would promote its objectives to reach such aspired goal.
