Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Information Technology, has launched a new service which enables its staff members, graduates, and website visitors to access its electronic services via the National Single Sign-On Portal (Absher). This has been implemented in order to facilitate access to the services offered by the university.
The Acting Dean of Information Technology, Dr. Atef Al-Hejaili, asserted that this new service is part of the deanship's endeavors to offer optimum academic and administrative services to the UQU affiliates and beneficiaries.
Dr. Atef clarified that the Deanship of Information Technology realizes the importance of the IT applications and systems, and their impact on facilitating the different procedures and turning them into electronic services. He added that these systems and applications save time and effort, and contribute to offering services with high reliability by linking the UQU electronic systems with the National Information Center. In addition, a high standard of technology of the National Single Sign-On program is utilized in order to achieve the highest level of quality and security for the beneficiaries' confidential information. The services are also offered in the easiest manner to everyone.
This electronic service is considered as one of the qualitative initiatives launched by the university for its affiliates and all the beneficiaries of its different academic services. It is also utilized in the admission and registration process, besides the E-Recruitment Portal and the Unified Admission Portal.
