President of Umm Al-Qura University Inspects Midterm Exams for Students of the Joint First Year Deanship

On the first day of assuming office, His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, inspected the King Saud Hall in Al-Abdiyyah. The midterm exam for the first semester was held for students of the Joint First Year Deanship in the hall on Thursday morning, 5 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1442 A.H. The aim of the UQU President's tour was to ensure the progress of the tests and that all precautionary and health measures are taken.

On this inspection tour, Prof. Aal Madh-hab was accompanied by His Excellency the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalghaith, and His Excellency UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi. His Excellency Prof. Aal Madh-hab was received by His Excellency the Vice Dean of the Joint First Year for Educational Affairs, Dr. Waheeb Al-Harbi, His Excellency the Vice Dean, Dr. Ahmad Arbaeen, and His Excellency the General Supervisor of the Safety Department, Engineer Muhammad Zamzami.

After the tour, His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, emphasized the necessity of providing all measures that would reduce the tension of the exams as well as all measures conducive to making the exams a good educational experience for students in these exceptional circumstances. His Excellency also valued the efforts made by the academic leaders in the deanship under the umbrella of the University Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs. Moreover, His Excellency did not miss this opportunity to applaud the commitment and discipline shown by the students of the Joint First-Year Deanship.

On his part, the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith, congratulated His Excellency Prof. Moaddi Aal Madh-hab for gaining the royal trust and for assuming the position of President of Umm Al-Qura University. He supplicated Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, to guide him and support him in order to take advantage of the generous care and support that Umm Al-Qura University receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect them. He also commended the follow-up of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah, His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, and also the care and concern of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Prof. Hamad bin Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh.

The Acting Dean of the Joint First Year Deanship, Dr. Azza bint Muhammad Bannounah, indicated that all students of the deanship in its three streams, i.e. health, scientific, and administrative, at the main campus in Makkah and in the deanship branches in Al-Leith, Al-Qunfudhah, and Al-Jamoum, are taking their midterm exams in person throughout this week. Midterm exams will also be held for all female students of the deanship at the main campus and the branches over the next week, with the same health and precautionary measures being taken. Dr. Azza commended the measures and procedures taken by the Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs, represented by His Excellency the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Waheeb Al-Harbi. Those efforts have been evident in the form of the excellent planning and high-level organization of the King Saud Hall in Al-Abdiyyah.

Dr. Azza Bannounah also stated that the Joint First Year Deanship and its employees took pride in having the President of the University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad, in their headquarters during the first visit His Excellency made to the deanship to check on his students. This is in addition to the continuous follow-up the deanship receives from His Excellency the Supervisor of the University Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith. She emphasized the importance of these inspection visits and the directives and suggestions they contain that outline the way to prepare a comprehensive plan for arranging the deanship's priorities in the coming period, in line with the ambitions of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs and following the strategic plan of Umm Al-Qura University.
