In light of the fruitful cooperation between the College of Education and the Department of Physical Education, and the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs for Student Activities and Training, the Department of Physical Education has the honor to announce the participation of Her Excellency Dr. Manal Talaat Muhammad, Associate Professor of Physical Exercises at the Department of Physical Education, in the daily meeting series conducted by the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs for Student Activities and Training with a lecture entitled: “Maintaining an Ideal Body Weight During the Home Quarantine Period”. The lecture was held on Saturday, 18 Sha`ban, 1441 A.H.
The lecture targeted university students and addressed many important topics related to proper nutrition. Dr. Manal talked about physical activity, calculation of calories, the method of calculating the ideal body weight, how to have and maintain an ideal weight, the concept and importance of aerobic exercises that can be practiced at home and examples of such exercises, and the basics in developing an aerobic exercise program for the different age brackets.
The lecture was conducted remotely via the WebEx program, and was organized by the Department of Sports Activities at the university, under the supervision of His Excellency Dr. Nahla Hariri. The number of female university students who participated reached 252 students.
