The Board of Directors of the Saudi Scholarly Society for the Principles of Jurisprudence and Shari`ah Objectives (Osol) held its first meeting for the second session at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 12 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 6 February, 2020 A.C., at the headquarters of the society at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies in Umm Al-Qura University. The meeting was attended by the chairman and all the members of the board and discussed a number of the topics listed in its agenda, on top of which concerned: printing a number of the distinctive scientific theses in the field of the society, i.e. "Principles of Jurisprudence and Shari`ah Objectives", and holding a scientific session for one week in "Jurisprudence Applications" in the Great Mosque of Mecca in cooperation with the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. This is in addition to holding a scientific day in the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies during which scientific papers and research projects will be submitted in relation to the book entitled, "Al-Risala", by Imam Shafi`i (may Allah have mercy on him) by the college students.
It is worth mentioning that UQU's President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, early last month, approved the Board of Directors of the Saudi Scholarly Society for the Principles of Jurisprudence and Shari`ah Objectives (Osol) in its second session, which was formed as follows:
