Based on the principle of community awareness, an awareness program was presented under the title "My Determination Overcomes Difficulties - Brain Secrets and Mysteries" at the Disabled Children's Association in Makkah. The program aimed to educate the target group (mothers and teachers) on topics related to the concept of the brain and brain injuries and their impact on mental processes. In addition, some syndromes and their effect on the behavior of the individual were reviewed.

The importance of the program lies in increasing awareness of developments on the topic of the human brain, its components and functions, brain injuries, and the effects that they cause on human behavior in terms of knowledge.

The awareness program was held on Thursday 29 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H. It was presented by the Ph.D. students of the Department of Psychology, Learning Stream, under the supervision of Dr. Nawar Muhammad Al-Harbi. It ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The program addressed many different useful activities:

1. Introducing developments on the topic of the human brain in terms of components, functions, disorders, injuries, and syndromes.
2. Pregnant mother injuries during pregnancy and after childbirth.
3. Head and brain injuries (causes - diseases - prevention - treatment).
4. Disorder of mental processes.
5. Minors' syndromes and mental disabilities.

The program was attended by the mothers of the children attending the Association, a number of the Association’s female employees, and a number of female postgraduate students. The awareness program concluded with a tribute to the efforts made by the participants in the program. Some mothers expressed their wish to repeat the program next semester.

At the end of the program, the Director of the Association Center in Makkah, Prof. Sulaf Muhammad Hijazi, honored Her Excellency Dr. Nawar Muhammad Al-Harbi, and all Ph.D. female students from the Department of Psychology, Learning Stream.
