Saudi Arabia topped the Arab scientific journals in the field of literature, achieving first rank, according to the results of the Arabic Citation and Impact Factor of Arab scientific journals (ARCIF).

The fourth ARCIF report (2019), published by e-Marefa database on production and scientific content, stated that Saudi Arabia topped the literature field, which includes 51 journals, of which the Umm Al-Qura Journal of Language Sciences and Literature was classified in the first category (Q1) in the literature specialty.

His Excellency Umm Al-Qura President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, at His Excellency's office on Monday,19 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., honored the Editor-in-Chief of the University Journal for Language Sciences and Literature, Prof. Abdul-Rahman Arif, the General Supervisor of the Office of University Journals, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sufi, Director of the Office of University Journals, Mr. Abdullah Ba-Akhdar, and Assistant Director of the Office of Scientific Journals, Mr. Omar Al-Sayyid, on the occasion of the journal achieving the first rank at the level of Arab scientific journals. The celebration was attended by His Excellence Umm Al-Qura Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini.

His Excellency the President of the University congratulated the team of the journal, headed by the Editor-in-Chief of the University Journal for Language Sciences and Literature, Prof. Abdul-Rahman bin Hasan Al-Arif, on their qualitative success and their continuous endeavor in highlighting the role of scientific journals to enrich the university in cognitive and research fields.

It is worth mentioning that the "ARCIF" factor is a methodology based tool that measures the relative importance of scientific journals, comparing them in their respective cognitive fields. It is extracted according to strict standard equations based on global standards.

The ARCIF impact factor is supervised by the Supervisory and Coordination Council, which is composed of representatives of several Arab and international bodies (UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States, United Nations Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Bibliotheca Alexandrina, e-Marefa database, and the Gulf Branch of the Association of Specialized Libraries). This is in addition to a scientific committee of experts and academics from several Arab countries and Britain, with a leading scientific reputation.

ARCIF has contributed, since its inception, in transferring Arab scientific production from an invisible entity to a globally recognized product, especially due to the "credibility and rigorous scientific standards" on which it is based.

ARCIF provides data through an advanced electronic platform and multiple interfaces, which allow access to many indicators and reports related to that data through the website http://emarefa.net/arcif
