The College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, represented by the Deanship for Training and Community Services, held a course entitled: "Check Circulation within the Saudi System". The course was delivered by Her Excellency Dr. Ibtisam Al-Matrafi, Head of the Consultative Experience House, on Thursday, 15 Rabi` Al-Thani 1441 A.H., at the college library.
At the beginning of the course, the lecturer explained that the use of checks had its origins in the eighteenth century. She also mentioned the definition of the word "check", as well as the parts of a check and what each part is for, and all the mandatory data that must be filled in a check. She explained that in case there is a mistake in the numeric amount of a check, the written amount is used.
Next, she stated the provisions for issuing corporate checks, and presented some types and images of checks, along with an explanation for each type. Moreover, she pointed out that a crossed check cannot be cashed, but must be deposited into a bank account.
The course also included several questions from the students, which were adequately answered. Some discussions were then held on this topic.
At the end of the course, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to Dr. Ibtisam for her participation. We ask Allah to grant her success and guidance.
