The Vice Deanship of the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at the UQU launched, on Thursday, 24 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H.), the first scientific forum for faculty members and students at the College of Engineering. This took place in the presence of the Dean of the College, His Excellency Dr. Alawi Muhammad Bamahdi, the vice deans, the heads of the academic departments, academic staff members, and students of the college, as well as a number of guests.

The forum included (9) scientific sessions, divided among three halls for the discussions held in the fields of construction engineering with its various branches and industrial engineering. This was with the participation of (14) faculty members and (39) students from the college, who participated in the forum with their papers and scientific presentations.

The forum aimed to promote research and creative values, provide an opportunity for honest scientific competition, promote teamwork, build bridges of scientific communication, and disseminate a culture of sustainable development through scientific research, creativity and innovation for the college and its students. It also aimed to support the scientific research skills of the college and its students, encourage students to venture into entrepreneurship and build their distinguished small projects, provide an opportunity to highlight talents, enrich the research arena, and contribute to the realization of the Saudi Vision 2030.

At the end of the forum, the Dean of the College honored the faculty members and students who gave the best presentations. Draws were also held on many valuable prizes for the attendees of the forum sessions from among the students and faculty members.

This forum is the first scientific forum at the college, and it was held in accordance with the executive plan developed by the Vice Deanship of the College for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research to improve the scientific research activity at the college.
