On Sunday, December 18th, 2016, under the auspices of Dr. Faisal ibn Abdulqadir Baghdadi, the Arabic Language Department of the jammum University College organized a lecture titled “Role of the Arabic Language and its Science in Understanding the Holy Quran, as part of the observance of the World Arabic Day. Such a Day is when the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) issued a decision by the virtue of which it recognizes the Arabic language among the official languages and the UN work language. This year’s celebration is marked under the main theme “Boosting the Dissemination of the Arabic Language”.
Dr. Ahmed Abdulmijid Khalifah, a faculty member at the Department, gave the lecture and tackled the status of the Arabic language and its importance in understanding the holy Quran.
