Fourth-year students of the Department of Clinical Nutrition participated in the exhibition held in conjunction with the symposium on the World Diabetes Day on Wednesday and Thursday, 16–17 of Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H. The event was organized by the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center at Al-Nur Specialized Hospital in Makkah, under the supervision of the Head of the Clinical Nutrition Department, Dr. Alaa Qadi, and Dr. Sayyid Hamid, a faculty member in the same department.
Dr. Alaa Qadi also gave a lecture on the effect of vitamin D on type 2 diabetes patients, and how to compensate for low levels of vitamin D in the blood, a case from which a very large segment of the Saudi society suffers.
