A training course was held for the academic staff in the College of Engineering at Al-Qunfudhah about e-learning and the Black Board system, on Thursday dated Muharram 27,1441 A.H., corresponding to September 26, 2019 A.C. The course looked at the Black Board system in terms of content creation, e-building of the lectures and exams, sharing the subject's file among the academic staff of the department, and linking between the outcomes of each course in a manner compatible with national academic accreditation and international academic accreditation.
The Black Board system contains a lot of programs that provide the academic staff with the ability to easily design and create digital, dynamic, and interactive courses and easily manage the content of the course. The system enables the subject's tutor to link the contents of the course with activities such as discussions, forums, delivery folder, grading management program, and grades distribution.
It is worth mentioning that one of the best advantages of the Black Board system is that it allows students and academic staff to access the course inside and outside the university at any moment and from anywhere. In addition, the Black Board system offers many tools for browsing the contents of the course and interacting with the educational sections of the scientific material at all times, synchronically and asynchronically. The platform is also considered an effective tool to ensure constant communication between the tutor of the course and all the students registered in it. This enables students to attain better educational outcomes compared to traditional education and provides the academic staff with the ability to enrich their course using the technology and educational resources available on the internet and on the pedagogical as well as the international educational websites.
His Excellency Dr. Al-Mundhir Abdul-Qadir Al-Hamzawi, the lecturer at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, delivered the training on the Black Board system. At the end of the course, photos were taken.
