The Department of Biology at Jamoum University College held the first meeting for postgraduate students on Sunday 30 Muharram 1441 A.H., in the presence of the Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Suhail bin Salim Al-Harbi, and the College Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mihdar.
His Excellency Dr. Samir bin Hasan Qari, the Head of the Department of Biology, opened the forum by welcoming the attendees. In his speech, he said that the launching of the postgraduate studies program in the department is the fruit of the efforts and cooperation of the department members to achieve the objectives of the strategic plan, which included opening postgraduate studies streams in the department. "The Master’s Degree in Genetics is the first fruit of the program and other programs are being designed in line with the needs of the labor market under Saudi Vision 2030," he explained.
The dean then delivered his address, confirming the keenness of the UQU President, under the guidance of the wise leadership, to develop the educational programs to keep pace with the needs of the knowledge economy and to upgrade the educational process. He stressed the importance of hard work and perseverance to reap the fruits. After that, the vice dean of postgraduate studies at Jamoum University College gave advice and guidance and spoke about the rules and regulations of postgraduate studies.
The meeting was attended by all the postgraduate students and the outstanding undergraduate students, with the participation of the academic staff and the affiliates of Jamoum Department of Biology.
