On the occasion of the World Diabetes Day, the Club of Preparatory Year at the Deanship of Female Students Affairs organized an awareness day titled, Eyes on Diabetes, on Monday 21st Safar 1438H. It is worth mentioning that the World Diabetes Day is celebrated in November when definition of and awareness against diabetes, as well as related topics get very much focus.

The event included an awareness lecture in which the disease, its types, preventive measures and means of dealing with diabetic cases were defined.

Out of concern for spreading awareness against diabetes among the female students and affiliates at the Deanship, some pillars were considered bases for such awareness: What is diabetes? (Truth and Superstitions), Healthy Food and Glucose Tolerance Test.

During the event, awareness brochures about diabetes were distributed. Moreover, the female students and affiliates at the Deanship were subjected to blood sugar tests.

It is noteworthy that such event reflects the initiative taken by the Deanship to achieve its objective of spreading awareness among its female students, and the attention it pays towards health culture and awareness. This was evident in the attendance of a great number of the Deanship’s female students and affiliates.

Such significant event comes in the framework of the attention paid by the Deanship of Preparatory Year towards the implementation of the instructions given by its Dean, Dr. Sa’d bin Said Al-Ghamdi. The event also was under the supervision of Dr. Heba bint Sa’id Al-Amoudi, Vice-Dean of the Preparatory Year for Medical Studies.
