The College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, represented by the Vice Deanship of the College for Educational Affairs and Development, held a program entitled, "Female Knowledge Ambassadors", in collaboration with the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers. The Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, attended the activity that was held on Thursday, 28 Rajab, 1440 A.H., at Bashrahil Hall.
The ceremonies began by offering peace and blessings upon he who was sent to the best nation (the Prophet). Next, there was a recitation of the Qur'an followed by an invaluable speech by Dr. Widad Yahyalal from the Institute of Arabic Language. The two former deans of the institute, Dr. Wafaa bint Abdullah Al-Mazru` and Dr. Muna bint Humaid Al-Subai`i, talked about the institute and what was achieved during their tenures.
Afterwards, the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, praised the efforts of those responsible for the ceremonies and also the participating students. This was followed by an activity entitled, "Knowledge Ambassadors in Other People's Eyes", which was offered by a number of female academic staff at the Institute of Arabic Language. A female Chinese student offered a simplified lecture about the 'keys' of the Chinese Language.
Afterwards, a seminar entitled, "The Spread of Islam in European and African Countries", was offered by an academic staff member at the History Department, Dr. Samirah Al-Sa`idi, and an academic staff member at the Shari`ah Department, Dr. Ghadah Al-Uqala. Dr. Hissah Al-Sudais from the Department of Shari`ah participated with a simplified explanation about the jurisprudence of territories.
The program included competitions, and awards were distributed among the female students. In a humanitarian gesture that left a great effect on the female students, one of the affiliates surprised some female students by calling their families, which stirred warm feelings and yearning for their families.
Some of the female academic staff delivered some advice and recommendations for female knowledge ambassadors.
On the other hand, the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, visited the sections designed by female students, which showed their talents. All the female students of the Institute of Arabic Language were wearing the uniform of their countries, a point which attracted the attention of the visitors. They displayed pictures, meals, handcrafts, and their national flags. They showed great delight in representing their countries, full of feelings of pride, and expressed their happiness in Allah granting them the honor of being Muslims.
The activities of the program gained the admiration and approval of the attendants. At the end of the ceremonies, all those who participated in supporting this activity were honored.
