The first meeting of the foundational course on the Principles of the Verification of Heritage was held on Sunday morning, 24 Rajab, 1440 A.H., at 9:00 a.m. The course is presented by Dr. Hasan Ahmad Al-Uthman, an expert in heritage verification, and is due to last until Tuesday, 26 Rajab, 1440 A.H.
The course is held under the theme, "Reviving Medical Manuscripts", and is presented by Dr. Hasan Al-Uthman in the institute's training hall in Al-Abdiyyah, and in the library training hall in the female section.
During the course, Dr. Al-Uthman discussed six topics, including how to explore the text of the manuscript, identify its different reading levels, the text library, its service, study of the origins of textual differences, and the text references and traditions. The course is aimed at researchers and postgraduate students interested in the science of manuscripts and the verification of texts, in order to introduce them to this science and the procedures in the verification of texts, and to explain the structure of the Arabic manuscript and textual references.
