Workshop: Voluntary Institutions and Their Role in Enhancing Intellectual Security

On Monday 18 Rajab 1440 A.H., His Excellency the Vice Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Service presented a workshop entitled "Voluntary Institutions and Their Role in Enhancing Intellectual Security." The workshop was part of the activities of the one-week "My Happiness in Volunteering" program held at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies from Sunday 17 to Thursday 21 Rajab 1440 A.H.

His Excellency the Vice Dean started the workshop by expressing gratitude to Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He) and thanking His Excellency the UQU President, Prof.Abdullah Omar Bafail, and His Excellency the Dean of the College, who attended the workshop. The workshop tackled the following topics:

  • The concept of comprehensive security.
  • The concept of intellectual security.
  • The role of civil society organizations and their fields.
  • Voluntary work and its phases.
  • Voluntary work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Charities.
  • The role of voluntary institutions in intellectual security.
  • Examples of Saudi voluntary institutions.
  • Successful examples of volunteer work.

The workshop concluded by underlining some recommendations for volunteering at the individual and institutional levels.

At the end of the workshop, the attendants were given the opportunity to participate in the discussion. His Excellency the Dean of the College emphasized the importance of the workshop's subject and of voluntary work in Islam.

The workshop was concluded by thanking Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He).
