As His Excellency the Dean of the Joint First Year Deanship, Dr. Sa`d bin Sa`id Al-Ghamdi, is keen to raise the academic and professional performance quality of the deanship's students and to urge them to achieve more accomplishments, the Student Guidance and Support Unit, under the supervision of His Excellency Dr. Waheeb bin Dakhilullah Al-Harbi, Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs (male section) in Al-Abdiyyah, organized a lecture entitled: "Problem Solving in Teaching and Learning from an Educational Perspective". The lecture was presented by Dr. Mansour Samir Al-Sa`aidi, on Wednesday, 6 Rajab, 1440 A.H.

The lecture, which was attended by more than 20 students of the First Joint Year Deanship, included several main themes, most importantly:

• The concept of the method of problem solving.
• The importance of problem solving.
• Characteristics of problem solving.
• Steps of problem solving.

At the end of the lecture, some problems that may occur during the exam period were presented, as well as how to deal with and overcome them successfully.
