The Accounting Department at Jamoum University College held a training course entitled "Initiative and its Impact on the Individual and Society" on Thursday, 30 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H. The course was presented by Dr. Asiyah Al-Sayyid Farahati, a faculty member at the department. The course was attended by students from various academic departments in the college: Accounting, Computer Science, Social Services, Media, and the Preparatory Year.
The course aimed to encourage female students to take the initiative and engage in entrepreneurship and creativity, in particular, to realize the future aspirations of achieving Saudi Vision 2030.
The concept of the initiative was defined, as well as its importance and impact on the individual and society from the time of our Islamic history, and the example of our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, up to the era of globalization and the knowledge-based economy.
The course also addressed the characteristics of creative initiators and the rules of initiative and creativity, focusing on the elements of a successful initiative.
During the session, the participants discussed the initiative of 100 opportunities supported by the Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah with the participation of many funding bodies. It aims to give the Makkah-based entrepreneurs the opportunity and the support to launch projects in various streams: technology and manufacturing, tourism and leisure, and entrepreneurship.
Advice and guidance were given to the female students who wished to enroll in this initiative.
