The College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah has chosen Abdul-Rahman Dahawi Al-Umari to receive the title of "College Role Model." All participating students presented their university achievements and contributions, community contributions, and self-development programs in which they have been involved to the judging committee. This took place during the first stage of the 3rd season of the University Role Model Contest that is part of the vision for the Makkah Region adopted by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region. The vision is represented by the strategy of "Human Development and Land Planning and Construction", under the slogan of "How to be a Role Model."

The Judging Committee consisted of Dr. Ulwi Muhammad Bamhadi, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ubaid Ghazi Al-Hadaraiti, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering for Development and Entrepreneurship, and Engineer Ibrahim Muri` Al-Muri`, Head of the Department of Construction and Engineering. The judging took place in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al-Mat-hami, Vice Dean of Student Affairs.

The judging committee chose the winner after comparing the contributions of the three participants: Abdul-Rahman Dahawi Al-Umari, Muhammad Ahmad bin Mahfuz (who was a substitute candidate), and Ali Abdullah Al-Kudaisi.

The contest aims at contributing to enhance the student's self-confidence, spreading the culture of setting an example among the male and female students of the university, and fostering a creative and competitive environment that motivates the male and female students of Umm Al-Qura University.

At the end of the contest, the winner received the "Model" shield and a certificate of thanks. Moreover, the other two winners also received certificates of thanks for their participation and efforts.

It is worth mentioning that the winner of the first place at the level of the university receives (20,000) twenty thousand riyals, the second place receives (15000) fifteen thousand riyals, and the third place receives (10,000) ten thousand riyals.
