First Forum of UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs: Vision and Transformation

As part of the mission of Umm Al-Qura University to provide quality education and outstanding scientific research that serve the community and contribute to the development of the knowledge-based economy and the achievement of the vision of 2030, UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs is pleased to invite the academic staff members, postgraduate students and those interested to participate in the first forum of UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs entitled, "Vision and Transformation". The event will be held under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University.

This forum aims at highlighting the efforts, expertise, and experiences of UQU deanships, colleges and institutes in the specified themes and topics of interest.

First: Themes of the forum:

1. Ensuring equal access to education:

1.1. Highlighting the role of modern education, such as integrated education, e-learning, and distance training in improving access to education.

1.2. Developing the technical services for use in the educational process.

2. Harmonizing the university outputs to labor market requirements:

2.1. Adapting learning outcomes to emerging changes in the requirements of the labor market.

2.2. Direct and indirect training (platforms, on-the-job training, distance training, etc.).

2.3. Developing academic programs and specializations commensurate with the requirements of the labor market.

3. The role of higher education institutions in volunteering and community partnerships:

3.1. Voluntary work:

  • Voluntary work in research and studies.
  • Voluntary work in education and training.
  • Voluntary work and social responsibility.
  • Encouraging voluntary work according to the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

3.2. Community partnerships

  • Community partnerships and their role in increasing access to higher education.
  • Creating a distinctive and attractive university learning environment for community partnerships with different sectors.

4. Relationship between academic satisfaction and productive efficiency:

4.1. Factors affecting academic satisfaction.

4.2. Factors that improve productive efficiency.

4.3. Measuring the quality of educational practices.

Second: Types of participation:

  1. Scientific papers
  2. Posters

Third: Rules of participation:

  1. Contributions should be in Arabic.
  2. Papers should be written in Simplified Arabic, font size (14).
  3. Abstracts (scientific papers, posters, panel discussions, workshops) should not exceed 250 words.
  4. The abstract shall contain the objectives of the contribution and the extent of its relevance to one of the themes of the forum.
  5. The scientific papers should not exceed 15 pages, including references.
  6. The participant should submit a short CV, not more than one page in length.

Fourth: Way of providing contributions:

Contributions shall be sent via the e-form (click here to access the e-form) within the time limit for receiving posts.

Fifth: Important dates:

  1. 20 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 AH: Deadline for receiving posts and CVs.
  2. 10 Rajab, 1440 AH: Announcement of accepted posts.
