Dr. Baqri ibn Ma’atuq A’asas, the University president, opens the annual open workshop with the department directors, organized by the University Presidency represented by the Academic staff Affairs Department. The workshop is entitled “Department Directors an Opportunity for Distinction, Innovation and Administrative Empowerment”. Present as Dr Yasser obn Soliman Shushu, the University Presidency. The workshop held at the supporting hall of the King Abdul-Aziz historic hall in the Alabidiah-based dormitory; and at the female student division Khukair hall as far as the female element is concerned.
Dr. Bakri urged the department directors to bear the responsibility and pay attention to all the educational facilities for taking care of the educational system and advancing it. He further pointed out that the administrative formations the University makes annually are in the interest of work according to the all the departments’ needs. He went on praising the efforts exerted by the University Vice President and the work team support him, and extending thanks and gratitude to the department directors for their steady cooperation.
For his part, the University Vice President gave directives of providing allowance for the days when the employee is off according to the previous circulars, for 36 days. He went on to point out that the idea of text messaging which oblige the employee to prove their attendance via the fingerprint device during the official working time has been temporarily suspended, and it is being prepared to take effect in the proper time. Such a service is to regulate the administrative process for the full time staff attendance in their offices. And this helps them go about the dealings they receive from the academic staff members, students or the University’s visitors.
By the same token, Dr. Yasser a new mechanism has been introduced for all the University buildings maintenance requests via its website. This aims at preparing the educational environment in all the University’s facilities. these requests are filled electronically by the department directors for addressing any glitch in the shortest time possible by the Operation and Maintenance Department. He also added that transportation request has been into effect for the electronically-contracted academic staff member, without the need of going to the Academic Staff Members Affairs Department and employees. And he remarked that the Academic Staff Members Affairs and Personnel Department serves 10 thousand employees.
Dr. Yasser stressed that the workshop comes as part of the University Presidency’s endeavor to develop the administrative work at all its levels and sectors and the University facilities. This aims at providing fruitful environment contributing to upgrading the tasks taken up by all the University departments. This reflects the interest and keenness of the University President, and his steady encouragement for holding such workshops. This aims at raising the staff’s competence who hold administrative offices at the University, and honing their capacities with all the lasts about developing the work system.
