Dr Ashgan bint Yousief Bamahfouz, the Medical Study Preparatory Year vice deanship, supervised the event, which aims at raising awareness of the Deanship’s community about eye diseases and blindness and their causes and ways of treatment. The event focused on six awareness pivots:

  1. Glaucoma
  2. Cataract
  3. Retinopathy (Diabetes and Blood Pressure)
  4. Sight Weakness and Lenses
  5. Vision endowment and ways of taking care of it
  6. Sight examination

Seen as a positive step, the Deanship conducted free examination for its students and staff. Thus, the event highlights its initiative towards raising the awareness of its students and its interest in spreading the culture of eye care. Not only that, the event stresses on the importance of health awareness, significance of eye examination, vision issues and impairment and treating those inflicted with them and protecting the healthy against them.
