On Tuesday 14 Safar, 1440 A.H., the Jamoum University College held an introductory meeting about the Student Advisory Council, in the presence of Dr. Hanadi Qamrah, the Vice-Dean of Jamoum University College, members of the college academic staff, and students.
The meeting aimed to introduce students to the tasks of the Student Advisory Council as well as its objectives, and how to communicate with the representatives of the departments to deliver proposals, complaints, and ideas that contribute to creating an educational, extra-curricular, and serviceable environment commensurate with their aspirations. This will take place through the provision of consultations that contribute to making appropriate decisions by the leadership of the college.
The meeting started with a presentation explaining the Council's nature, objectives, and organizational structure. This was followed by a speech from Dr. Hanadi Qamrah, Vice Dean of the Jamoum University College and Chairman of the Student Advisory Council, in which she expressed her thanks and appreciation for the efforts of His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, in providing a suitable environment and recreational services for students. His efforts have resulted in the "Be Happy" initiative that was launched by the college to carry out this objective. The Student Advisory Council has been established to provide a link between the students and the college administration to determine the needs of the students and provide a suitable academic atmosphere.
The Deputy Chairman of the Council, Ms. Afnan Hayah, pointed out that the Council was formed on the basis of specific criteria to ensure sound and impartial results of its recommendations. She noted that the Council holds regular meetings in which member students discuss all queries, problems, and proposals, and ways of solving them and then refer the recommendations to the College Council.
The meeting concluded with a speech to the members of the Student Council outlining the ways they can communicate with the college administration.
