Out of the keenness of the Jamoum University College to spread the culture of creativity and entrepreneurship among female students, the introductory meeting was held on Tuesday, 19 Safar,1440 A.H., to introduce the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute. The introductory lecture was offered by Her Excellency the Vice-Dean of the Institute, Dr. Najwa Husain Samraqandi.
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Excellency the Vice-Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Hanadi Qamrah, welcomed the guests and praised the efforts of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute at Umm Al-Qura University and its effective role in developing creative thinking and innovation among the students.
The Vice-Dean of the Institute Dr. Najwa Samraqandi offered an introductory presentation on the services offered by the Institute to achieve its mission, which is "creating a knowledge-based community through education, training, development, innovation and entrepreneurship."
She pointed out that the Institute is considered to be a connecting link between the University and Wadi Makkah for Technology that aims at promoting culture, training and development in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. This is in order for ideas and research to be adopted later on by Wadi Makkah to be transferred to commercial products and startups. During her speech, she referred to the graduation project competition. She also gave a short brief on the intellectual property office, and its role in facilitating registration of patents.
Her Excellency the Vice-Dean of the Institute announced the project of the movable manufacturing facility and modeling lab that aims at helping students of Umm Al-Qura University to design primary models.
Female students of the College offered ideas for innovated projects to make use of the views and notes of Her Excellency the Vice-Dean of the College and the Vice-Dean of the Institute, to develop their ideas in the future.
