Under the auspices of His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, the Arabic Language Department organized, on Wednesday morning, 20 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 AH., a seminar entitled, "The Arabic Language Going Global", as part of the Department's academic activities on the occasion of the UN Arabic Language Day.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Abdul-Majid Al-Tayyib Omar, and it was introduced by Dr. Nasir bin Dakhilullah Al-Sa`idi, a member of the Department's academic staff.

The seminar was attended by His Excellency the Dean of the College Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, the Department's academic staff, the College's vice-deans, and students from the Department.

At the end of the seminar, the lecturer Prof. Dr. Abdul-Majid Al-Tayyib Omar gave a copy of his book, "Manzilat Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Al-Lughat [The Status of the Arabic Language Among Other Languages]", as a gift to His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, and His Excellency the Head of the Department, Dr. Omar bin Awwad Al-Harbi.
