Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi, the Dean of the University Studies for Girls, opened the advising meeting for female students of the College of Social Sciences under the slogan, “Consult and Seek Advice”, for the academic year 1439-1440 A.H. The meeting was in the presence of Dr. Khulud bint Abdullah Al-Thabity, Vice-Dean of the College of Social Sciences, deputy heads of the departments, some female members of the teaching staff, and female academic advisors and students. At the same time, the outstanding female students from all departments were honored.

The meeting began its first program on Monday, 18 Rabi' Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., and continued till Tuesday 19 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. While the first day was devoted to the Geography and Media Departments, the second day was assigned to the Departments of English and Social Work.

While highlighting the important aspects of electronic registration and guidance, and enriching the academic and counseling outcomes for female students, Dr. Khulud Al-Thabity stressed in her speech the important role of guidance and counseling in the educational process, noting that the aim of the meeting was to help the student not to stumble academically at the University. She also stressed the need to communicate with and take advice from the academic advisor, pointing out that this was the reason why the slogan, "Consult and Seek Advice", was adopted. She pointed out that the meeting was the first in the College, and that it will be held annually to strengthen the role of guidance and the concept of the relationship between the student and the academic advisor.

Dr. Khulud Al-Thabity expressed her happiness for the presence and interaction of the students, who posed their questions and the difficulties they face during their university studies, praising the active role of their advisors who encouraged them to attend the meeting. The total number of female students attending the meeting reached 766.

Dr. Khulud Al-Thabity appreciated the efforts of the Advising Meeting Committee, which was chaired by Dr. Inaam Ahmed Shuaibi, Vice President of the Media Department, in cooperation with the department coordinators Dr. Maha Al-Lahibi from the Department of Social Work, Dr. Maliha Al-Abdali from the Department of Geography, Ms. Badria Al-Sulami from the Department of English Language, and Ms. Aliaa Al-Turkistani from the Media Department. She expressed her thanks and appreciation for their good administration and management of the sub-committees during registration, presentation, application procedures, and while hosting guests. She also extended her thanks to His Excellency Dr. Adnan Al-Harby, the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, for his continuous support and guidance, as well as to the Student Council of the College, headed by the student Ru'ya Tambusi, and Ranosh Foundation for organizing the event.
