Under the auspices of his Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the Deanship of Scientific Research represented in the Islamic Studies Center, in cooperation with Saudi Fiqh Society representatives in Umm Al-Qura University, will host His Excellency Shaykh Prof. Salih bin Humayd, the Imam and speaker of the Sacred Mosque, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, counselor at the Royal Divan and Head of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

His Excellency has been invited to deliver a lecture entitled, 'Reviews on Scientific Research Methodologies and Techniques'. The lecture will cover the following main points:

• A brief account on the most important recent scientific research methodologies.
• Critical views on current scientific research methodologies.
• The manner of applying scientific research methodologies in serving Islamic research.
• And His Excellency's research experiment, as well as his directions to researchers.

The meeting aims at:

• Promoting awareness of the means and mechanisms of employing scientific research methodologies to serve research in the field of Islamic studies.
• Gaining the ability to scientifically criticize and rectify some scientific research methods.
• Making use of the long research experience of his Excellency through his presidency and membership to many of the distinguished and well-known scientific institutions.

The lecturer will be held on Wednesday 13 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., at 10 a.m. in King Abdulaziz hall in Al-Abdiyyah. Invitation is open to all academic affiliates of the University and other guests; male and female.
